Continuing.. Chapter 5 of 20 | Page 100 of 385
One person came and asked me,
'Swamiji, I want to ask you something.'
I said,
"You stand there and talk. Don't come near me."
He stood there.
I said,
“Before you ask me, I will ask you a question. Is your house near the railway track?"
‘Swamiji, we have never met before. Normally people ask, what is your name, where from have you come. But you are straightway asking whether my house is near the railway track!’
I said,
"Don't counter question. Say yes or no.”
‘Yes.’
"Ha! Now. you go ahead."
‘But how did you know?’
I said,
"You are talking as if you are talking on a dead phone from USA to Australia. You don't need to shout."
But because he has been staying near the railway track, he cannot talk soft.
Similarly, when somebody is deaf, he thinks everybody is deaf. He will never talk softly.
He has this illusion that people may not hear him. But others are not deaf!
See how beautiful it is!
Also, those who are blind, if a blind man touches another blind person he never thinks that he could also be blind. He imagines that he can see and,
‘Brother, can you help me cross this road?’
Now that blind will very clearly know that this fellow doesn't know that I am blind. But why will he tell? Then he will pull his hand,
“O.k., you put your hand on my shoulder and I will tell you.'
So, one blind man leading the other blind and both of them are going to the dogs!
So this is how the incomplete knowledge is very, very dangerous.
And you will see that when you listen a little bit here and there and you get something very great in your own life for the first time, immediately you want to tell others.
‘Come sit here. There are five great elements, you know. There are five Karmendriyas, five Gnyanendriyas, five Pranas, five Pancha Pranas.'
"But why are you taking my Prana? Leave me alone!"
This is how you know; it comes out as vomit because it is incomplete knowledge.
So friends, the knowledge which is gained through the limitations of the senses and the mind is a vitiated knowledge. It is not real knowledge. The real knowledge is what we all experience in deep sleep. And in this experience, we do not have any sense of otherness and therefore, all bliss.
